Upon his return from active duty deployment in Afganistan, Kermit prepared for and assumed his current role as President of the North Texas Chapter of AUSA on October 1, 2012.
Originally enlisting in the Army Reserves in 1981, Kermit has spent over 30 years in and around the Army. Kermit is currently serving his second stint with the US Army; in 2009 after a 17 year break, Kermit took a direct commission as an Engineer officer. His most recent deployment was in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as the Executive Officer and later the Commander for a Route Clearance Company in Eastern Afghanistan.
In addition to serving as the President of the North Texas Chapter of the Association of the United States Army, Kermit is actively involved in the veteran and military community. Kermit is active with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve with his most recent responsibility prior to deployment being that of the Dallas Area Chair. Kermit is also involved with the Dallas Veterans Day Parade where he serves as a current board member and was the past Chairman for the 2008 parade.
On the civilian side Kermit has over 20 years of experience in the financial services arena. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and the owner of Fidelis Financial Services, Kermit works closely with business owners, executives and professionals. As an independent investment and insurance firm specializing in financial planning and wealth management; they are devoted to identifying your financial needs and finding the best available financial products to meet those goals.
Kermit holds his undergraduate degree from Excelsior College in Finance and History. He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Kermit is married and resides in Richardson with his wife Gail.
