Join us Saturday April 26 at the Hotel InterContinental in Dallas for the 2014 AUSA North Texas Military Symposium featuring General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as our keynote speaker.
The 2014 AUSA Military Symposium and AFS 5 Star Award Luncheon events focus on Our Military Service Members Transitioning and Re-integrating into civilian communities as we draw down the military over the next few years. The theme for the events is the Warrior and Family Support Initiative championed by office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.
During the Awards Luncheon (beginning at 11:00AM) we will honor corporate leaders and those firms who support our military in these key areas. Our host Mr H Ross Perot a former 5 Star Award recipient will make the presentations.
During the Awards Luncheon we will also honor a former military leader who continues to serve as a civilian with the America’s Future Series (AFS) Megellas Military Leader of the Year Award, named for LTC (R) James “Maggie” Megellas, the 82nd Airborne’s most highly decorated officer during WWII. Former Navy Seal Clint Bruce, founder of Carry the Load, and a Megellas recipient will present the award to Melanie and former Navy Seal Marcus Luttrell.
Following the Luncheon we will host the 2014 Military Symposium. General Dempsey will deliver the keynote address detailing the need for grassroots programs enabling access to proper health care, quality educational opportunities, and meaningful employment for our returning service personnel and their families. Following General Dempsey’s address a panel of experienced leaders will talk about the programs they are driving that support the tenets of the Warrior and Family Support Initiative.
Doors open at 10:00 AM and the Luncheon begins at 11:00 AM followed by the Symposium beginning at 1:00 PM. The symposium is free and open to the public.
