The National Defense Series Briefing: Europe and Russia

The third briefing in the 4-part series on National Defense was held at the Heritage Ranch Country Club.

Featured speakers were General Tom Hobbins (USAF, ret) and Lieutenant General Steve Shepro (USAF, ret). Both subject matter experts discussed Europe and Russia, areas of the world which occupied the United States’ full attention from the end of World War II until the end of the Cold War in 1991, but which have since been overshadowed by the war on terrorism and more lately, China.

Nevertheless, Russia is still seen by most Americans as its #1 existential threat and other European regions present a range of a range of military, economic, political and cultural challenges which have the potential to flare up at any time.
